General Information on Garden Shredders

Safety First

Read and follow the manufacturers manual and instructions with respect to operating and maintaining of the shredder/chipper.
Do not wear clothing like ties etc. that can become dragged into the machine.
Always wear goggles when operating the shredder.
The wearing of gloves is advised to prevent cuts and abrasions.
It is not advised to wear short sleeves or short trousers.
Keep others outside of the working area given in the manual or instructions, especially children.

For electrically powered shredders make sure that you have a 30mA RCD protecting the cable and motor.
Disconnect the shredder from the mains by the removing the plug before dismantling.

For petrol machines, always empty out the fuel tank before transporting.
